Industrialized Construction, Why the Slow Adoption?

CEO Ryan Ware recently provided an opinion piece to Construction Dive. Construction Dive is a provider of global news and analysis for all who work within the construction industry. In his article, he discussed the future of industrialized construction.

In the opinion piece we explore the barriers to the adoption of Industrialized Construction solutions. While there are many, the three focused on in the piece are Willingness to Try (i.e., mindset), Delivery Models, and Value Proposition of the solutions. By implementing the ideas provided, the barriers to adoption can be addressed. This opinion piece is only the first part of the exploration into speeding up the adoption of IC.

Our experts will share more insights in future issues of The Connection where more time can be spent diving deeper into the complexity of the Human Systems as it relates to the design integration of Industrialized Construction solutions. While there is no easy button, we cannot blame any one party for the slow adoption. We cannot blame the technology, nor the solutions themselves. We can simply work to understand and be aware of how our brains force us to stay with the known.

Our goal is to create intrigue and dialogue that allows all to feel free to explore, understanding that it may not go exactly as planned.

As we stated, Industrialized Construction is not going anywhere. However, the task at hand is speeding up, and strengthening its widespread adoption. This provides a more patient, valuable and mutually beneficial process when addressing the human complex system part of Industrialized Construction.
