When I launched Activating Curiosity, my goal was simple. Create space for honest conversations about change in the construction industry. And to help leaders see that change isn’t something that happens to us, but with us.*
Releasing those first few episodes has only strengthened the mission behind this show.
The podcast grew out of my work leading Curiosity Building Experiences™ , immersive coaching and learning sessions designed to help teams and leaders reframe resistance, explore possibility, and strengthen their relationship with change.
Each episode continues that same mission, bringing real stories, diverse perspectives, and human-centered leadership lessons to the forefront of the construction industry.
How It Started
By releasing the trailer, I set the vision for the show: a place for construction leaders to explore what it truly takes to lead change with curiosity over control.
I introduced myself — Ryan Ware, host of Activating Curiosity, executive coach, change-management consultant, and keynote speaker for the construction industry.
What started in architecture evolved through construction and manufacturing and ultimately sparked a bigger mission—founding Connective Consulting Group and Connective Coaching to help organizations transform their relationship with change and lead with vision, courage, and curiosity.
I created this podcast for you — the builders, innovators, and change-makers driving construction forward, and for everyone ready to help the industry evolve.
Why I Started Activating Curiosity
In every episode, I ask one question that changes the conversation:
“What is the most important problem you are trying to solve — and more importantly, why?”
That “why” drives every discussion.
Each episode invites construction leaders to move past quick solutions and explore the mindsets that truly shape whether progress takes off or stalls. Each conversation explores what’s working, what’s not, and how forward-thinking leaders are navigating the complex challenges facing our industry — from technology adoption and prefabrication to human-centric leadership and organizational change.
This podcast doesn’t chase quick fixes or silver bullets. It’s about understanding why these problems matter — and what it costs us not to solve them.
What We’ve Explored So Far
Across the first episodes, I’ve had the privilege of sitting down with innovators from all corners of the AEC ecosystem. Authors, executives, and builders who are reimagining how we work, lead, and build.
Some of the recurring themes include:
- Curiosity over control. At its core, real innovation begins when we trade certainty for better questions.
- Human-centric leadership. Empathy and connection remain the strongest tools we have for collaboration.
- The evolving future of construction. Prefabrication, digital workflows, and AI are transforming the industry. But mindset will always be the hardest technology to upgrade.
Each conversation reinforces a key truth I’ve seen in my coaching work:
The best leaders don’t just manage change — they help others build a healthier relationship with it.
What You’ll Get from Listening
So for anyone leading people, projects, or organizations across construction, architecture, or manufacturing, Activating Curiosity becomes a catalyst for:
- Insightful, human-centered conversations with AEC innovators.
- Honest dialogue about resistance, uncertainty, and growth.
- Practical takeaways you can apply within your own teams.
- A renewed sense of confidence and curiosity to navigate what’s next.
If you’re looking for inspiration that transforms insight into meaningful action, this is the place to begin.
Listen, Reflect, Lead
The first few episodes are live now — and the conversations are only getting deeper.

How It Connects to My Work
As founder of Connective Consulting and Connective Coaching, my mission is to help leaders and teams build stronger relationships with change. This podcast is an extension of that mission — a platform for curiosity-driven conversations that spark insight and action across the construction industry.
Each episode reflects the same frameworks I use with clients — helping them find clarity, confidence, and curiosity to lead transformation more effectively.
